About
Paddling a kayak, canoe or board through Nottingham on the River Trent offers a serene escape into the heart of England's rich history. As you glide past the Victoria Embankment you can imagine the river's role in the city's medieval trade, where goods and merchants once bustled along its banks. The Trent, England's third-longest river, has witnessed centuries of change, from the Viking invasions to the rise of the Industrial Revolution. Passing under the elegant arches of Trent Bridge, you can appreciate its Victorian engineering, connecting the modern city to its storied past. The midpoint turn with it's tramlines going over the river, brings us back to the present day and modern transport systems. The tranquil waters provide a unique perspective on Nottingham, blending natural beauty with a deep historical tapestry.
