Loch Voil Risk Assessment

Route Description & General Hazards

• Landing and launching will be from a beach with rocks. The risk will be reduced by having staff at the shore to help and assist launching and landing
• Water at the West end of the loch is hip deep and there is a sunken crannog and a couple of boulders. This risk will be reduced by having all this in brief at the beginning  having a marshal based at this end of the loch
• Changing winds coming down the glen. Having access roads on both sides of the lochs mean any participants that get tired can be collected and brought back to the start
• As the route is to follow the shore, the loch undulates with shallow and deeper approaches. This will be addressed in the brief and will have Crew Members stationed around the Loch.
• Going past the turning points this will be addresses by having a large red buoy and a Crew Member next it, to make it clear
