Llyn Padarn

In the heart of the mountains

Paddle beneath the rugged peaks of Yr Wyddfa

About

Paddling on Llyn Padarn is a truly breathtaking experience, set against the stunning backdrop of Snowdonia National Park. Whether in a canoe, kayak, or on a paddleboard, the lake’s crystal-clear waters and crisp mountain air provide the perfect escape into nature. Towering above are the rugged peaks of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the Glyderau, and Dinorwig mountains, creating a dramatic and ever-changing landscape. As you glide across the lake, you’ll pass ancient woodlands, hidden coves, and even the historic Dolbadarn Castle, all while soaking in the fresh, unspoilt air that makes this area so special.

We are delighted to bring AquaPaddle to this incredible location, adding Llyn Padarn to our network of free, timed 5K paddles. Llanberis, the charming town on its shores, is rich in Welsh heritage and outdoor adventure, known for its slate mining history and as a gateway to Snowdonia’s rugged beauty. Today, it’s a hub for climbers, hikers, wild swimmers, and now paddlers, making it the perfect home for an AquaPaddle event. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful paddle or an energising challenge, this is an amazing opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty, history, and adventure of one of Wales’ most scenic locations.
