Hull

East Park, Hull

Paddle around this picturesque lake in the heart of the city

About

Paddling on Hull’s East Park Lake offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the water in a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard while soaking up the beauty of this historic setting. East Park, Hull’s largest park, was originally opened in 1887 during the Victorian era as a space for relaxation and recreation. The park was designed to provide the people of Hull with a green escape from the rapidly industrialising city, and its picturesque lake remains a central feature to this day.

Whether you’re gliding across the water in a kayak, exploring at a leisurely pace in a canoe, or balancing on a paddleboard, the lake provides a calm and welcoming environment for paddlers of all abilities. Surrounded by lush greenery, wildlife, and Victorian-era landscaping, it’s a serene spot to enjoy time on the water. Whether you’re a beginner looking for a relaxed paddle or an experienced paddler seeking a peaceful escape, East Park Lake is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in nature and a piece of Hull’s history.

Parking

Nearest parking to launch site ///pizza.actor.shapes (Free)
Alternative parking ///flood.stress.forum (Free)

The car parks can get very busy and the spaces are narrow, inflating boards or putting boats onto roof racks could be challenging. Our recommendation is to park on the old park road, this links the two car parks above. This is single file parking so you will have easy access to the sides of your vehicles with plenty of room to inflate boards. ///order.limp.finishing (Free)

You will see on the map several local streets near to the launch site, please avoid parking here and use the park facilities.
