The AquaPaddle Swansea is held at White Rock Heritage park at Landore, Morfa, Swansea. The route is one 5km lap of the River Tawe Swansea, up to Morfa shopping Parc, Swansea turning down to Swansea Marina and then retuning upstream to White Rock at Landore, Morfa Swansea. (The direction of the route depends on the conditions as to which way the route is run).
Rowing club, day boats, and other craft on the water – The Tawe is shared with other craft, and we need to keep ourselves safe. Please keep a look behind from time to time to make sure you are not going to be in collision with another river user. If you see a boat or craft, please shout to other paddlers warning them of the danger and giving them a chance to move to the right-hand side of the river. If they are coming close, draw their attention to you, shouting and waving or blowing your safety whistle. Also move out of their way and if necessary. Large craft take priority, kneel if at risk of falling in.
Anglers– At various places on the banks along the Tawe. Paddle by cautiously, giving enough space around where they may be casting. Move to opposite side of river if safe to do so.
Swimmers- Wild or Open Water swimming has become very popular and you as the overtaking craft need to keep clear. Please shout to draw their attention to you as you come up behind them. Please keep at least 2 metres away from them.
