AquaPaddle Tonbridge is our first Location in Kent. It is on the River Medway that wends its way through the county and a meeting with The Thames in North Kent. The Route starts and finishes in the historic town just by Tonbridge Castle. Once you have paddled past the backs of peoples houses in the town, it heads out into the countryside and then returns along the same route.
The river is not as wide as some of the AquaPaddle Locations, which means numbers are limited, so register early to avoid disappointment.
Parking
The meeting point is in a large car park, which at the time of writing is free on Sundays. But please check.
Refreshments
Tonbridge Swimming Pool has the “Café at the Pool”, plus there are public toilets available.
Tonbridge is a new and growing location. If you are and experienced kayaker or Paddleboarder, ideally with a water rescue or “Leader” qualification, and you would like to volunteer to be a member of the local Crew, then we would like to hear from you. Just contact us through the Discord Comms System or email AquaPaddle
When you sign up to AquaPaddle, be sure to note your Unique AquaPaddle Number the system gives you. You can either print the number out yourself and put it in a waterproof cover or ideally buy and AquaPaddle Bib with your Number on it. These are available from our Shop.
With any waterway and especially a narrower one, we need to be aware of other river users. AquaPaddle is not a race and as such, we need to give way to other users or give them more space. Whether this be a large boat or a group of anglers on a “Match Day”. We need to give them space. Even if they get upset, we as AquaPaddlers, we need to be polite.
