AquaPaddle Lincoln

The Fossdyke is a Roman navigation built to connect the River Trent to the important Roman city of Lincoln and the River Witham. It is possibly the oldest canal in the UK but these days it is a quiet stretch of water with few boats and leisure users such as paddlesports and anglers. On a clear day you can see the spectacular medival Lincoln Cathedral positioned on a hill above Lincoln.

The Fossdyke is managed by the Canal & River Trust and all paddlers should have an appropriate licence to paddle, e.g. British Canoeing On the Water membership

Parking
There is parking available at Woodcocks pub car park and they have given permission for us to use their car park. All they ask is that we please park considerately.

AquaPaddlers getting ready to Go!

AquaPaddle Lincoln has a wonderful Crew lead by Hannah and Griff. If you would like to Volunteer and become a member of the local Crew, please contact the local AquaPaddle Captains through the Discord Comms System or email AquaPaddle

Paddling an ancient waterway

The route is an out and back paddle on a relatively straight stretch of the navigation just outside Lincoln. An embankment runs along the north bank for the whole route so supporters can cycle or walk to spectate from any part of the route.

Meeting new friends at AquaPaddle

The Launch point has a welcoming Pub next to it that also has accommodation. So if you are wanting to “Bag” another AquaPaddle and you don’t want to camp, then this is the perfect location. There will always be time to relax and chat to the other AquaPaddlers after the event over a class of something or a hot drink. Make new friends and plan outing of your own.
