AquaPaddle Fowey Estuary meeting point is located in the village of Golant. The AquaPaddle route is out on the beautiful Fowey Estuary. As this is a Tidal Location, Start times will vary., please make a note as to when to arrive to start setting up, so that you don’t miss the safety briefing.
Please be aware that every paddler must obtain a Fowey Harbour Paddle sports licence. This license is £20 and valid for a year. It can be found via The Fowey Harbour website on https://foweyharbour.co.uk/paddle/ . It’s a good investment in fun and helps protect the AONB.
Parking
Golant is a small village to the North of the town of Fowey. There is very limited parking. Please read the details below carefully to avoid being late for the start.
The pay and display bays, of which there are circa 20 will take card or the app (Just Park) a session of parking is normally £4. There is also free parking dotted around the quayside / village but in front of the pub on a high tide is usually a no!
We operate a car share policy here as this is a small village and we must be conscious of our carbon footprint and not to over power the village with traffic.
Encounter Cornwall have private parking at the top of the hill at £5 and the AquaPaddlers pay on arrival but must pre book them by calling the office (01726 832451) or mobile number (07792 062471), it’s a good 10 minute walk down the hill and where possible we can always offer a lift back up after a session, if we are free, or you can wait for us and have a coffee 😁

Encounter Cornwall owns the Boatshed and has facilities for AquaPaddlers there.
Refreshments
The Boatshed Café will be open and selling refreshments.

The Launch point is at The Boathouse, Golant. Please leave plenty of time to park and walk to The Boathouse, to get set up.
There are toilets and changing facilities at The Boathouse.
Encounter Cornwall has a Café in the Boathouse that selling fresh cakes, hot and cold drinks.
